At Sam Bennett – Arbgear in Northamptonshire, England, we recently installed a new Pladdet soil suction unit. The custom-built suspension was designed and built for client Collins Earthworks Ltd Will Jack Goldstone.
Soil suction unit deployment
The Pladdet soil dredger is mainly used for trenching vulnerable cables and sewers and for archaeological projects and the relocation of old trees.
Operation of soil suction unit
The soil unit sucks up the material by using air flow. A movable suction hose – both hammering and rotating – carries the material with the air flow to the reservoir. Once in the reservoir, the material falls to the ground due to gravity. The airflow continues through the sieve. The sieve is located at the top of the reservoir. The air flow continues through the impeller and the impeller housing, where it continues its way out. The outlet has a coarse filter. Around it is a fine filter. Thanks to hydraulically operated release valves, the soil vacuum is easy to empty.
We thank Sam for his trust in Pladdet and wish Collins Earthworks Ltd Will Jack Goldstone all the best!
